Thinking of Buying or Selling?

Why not let me give you an analysis of present market conditions and comparable property prices - at not cost to yourself other than spending time with me to assess your situation - entirely cost and obligation free !
Whereas all agents have access to the Multiple Listing Service, not all agents have a website as good as John L. Scott's. We are the acknowledged leader in this field - even by our competition. Aside from this exposure - which is getting over 50 million hits per month - we also advertise your property in the monthly John L. Scott magazine entirely free of charge until your property is sold. And of course we advertise regularly in both the local (The Gateway) and Tacoma (The Tribune) newspapers. We also place your home/property on both the John L. Scott, as well as the general, agent's tour - the latter open to ALL real estate agents in the area. If it is desired we will also have your home available as an "Open House" at a time suitable to yourself. 'For Sale" signs on, and directional arrows to, your property will also be strategically located pointing the way to your home (or lot).

Costs of Purchase/Sale

Want to know what the processing costs will be when you're a buyer or seller? Here's a quick rule of thumb!

Buyer:
Approx. 4% of the purchase price. (i.e. if your house costs $200,000 then your mortgage title, escrow, etc. will be approx. $8,000).

Seller:
Commission plus 2 to 3% of the selling price (i.e. for a $200,000 sale with a 6% commission, your costs will be between $16,000 - $18,000). (ie.6 + 2 or 3% of the purchase price)

About Steven Jooste

Personal : With more than 30 years experience in many facets of the property industry in Washington, Oregon and California – as well as Internationally – I have the knowledge as well as the negotiating ability to assist you with your real estate matters – whether buying, selling or investing. Initially trained as an architectural/survey draftsman in my post school years and subsequently acquiring a property/legal degree, this background blended in very well with my interest in the real estate field, so the transition into it came very easily. Having had experience in virtually every aspect of the industry from the buying and selling of homes, land and small commercial developments to subdivision establishment from start to finish – including the overseeing of the engineering aspects with contractors (installation of water, sewage, power, storm water etc. ,etc.) handling these projects, has given me the experience - which is your assurance  - that I will provide you with an efficient transaction.

But life does not consist of work only…

I am lucky enough to be married to an exceptional wife and mother of our three very successful sons with their four lovely grandchildren. Happily two of my sons have been able to join us here in Gig Harbor, my other son being only a three hour drive away in Vancouver, WA.

In my spare (daylight ) hours I enjoy playing tennis and fly fishing – particularly river fly fishing which, as my eldest son (my fishing buddy!) comments, “Being outdoors and casting that fly in some crystal clear mountain stream as it flows its way over and around boulders or glides quietly over deep pools is satisfying enough in itself. Catching a trout is a bonus….”

And for those times when only an hour or two are available to me, I enjoy my hobbies of philately, history and International Affairs or otherwise will pick up my brushes and lose myself for a while in some watercolor or acrylic painting. Maybe I’ll even exhibit some day when I get enough satisfactory work done…
